A modest amount of weight loss, a seriously beautiful 20 mile bike ride and a partridge in a pear tree.
I don’t know why I’m retaining water but it’ll go away. Not a worry. Otherwise, I had a simply amazing bike ride yesterday. The Northern California weather was perfect. I have been on a stationary bike at the gym a lot recently, but have not been on my Hakkalugi for more than a couple of miles in quite a while between vacation and injuries. But I really wanted to ride yesterday, so I did. I was not going for speed, just for joy, but was still amazed at how easily I finished a 20 miler. I could have gone much further, and best of all, my butt didn’t hurt. It’s the not-so-little things. Unfortunately I did have lots of mom duties, so riding more than that was not an option. It was so inspiring that I am going to head out again today for at least another 15 miles during my lunch break. And yesterday I did get a bunch of PRs and other “accomplishments” on Strava, including moving into 2nd place (for women) on the 5 mile Butterfield up and back segment. I may try to hunt down that QOM this week, that’s a good one.
